An effective emergency siren system requires accurate positioning of sirens for maximum warning capability.
HSS Engineering and its team of acoustical engineers have solid experience in acoustic planning and evaluation of large quantity data to find the best siren system solution in close corporation with the client.
To ensure optimal siren coverage we take a number of parameters in consideration such as: Background Noise Level, Topography, Buildings and other large structures, Siren type and configuration, Siren output, Siren cluster elevation height and coverage area. Many of these data can be collected during a detailed Site Survey.
The collected data serves as the basis for a Noise Mapping and Acoustical Analysis. Noise mapping requires the systematic buildup of individual noise source activities and levels which are fed into a calculation engine to create a range of noise metrics.
The calculations are carried out in accordance with ISO 9613-2 using Sound Plan – the World leading program for acoustical analysis.
SoundPlan allows for the results of the calculations and analysis to be presented graphically where colors indicate the sound propagation vs. background noise and all other relevant parameters. This can help identifying weak spots in the sound coverage from the warning siren system.
